bbe have developed world renowned expertise in two specialised fields:

• Biotest systems for sensitive toxicity detection using both algae and Daphnia
• Algae determination, algae activity, and algae class recognition

bbe instruments are currently being used by various public and private organizations worldwide, including the U.S. Army and the U.S. EPA. Six of the Daphnia Toximeters were used to provide 24 hour early warning facilities at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Online real-time toxicity detection equipment includes the Daphnia Toximeter (used during the Olympics) and the Algae Toximeter.
