TriOS Optical
Sensors was founded in early 1998 as a spin-off company of the University
of Oldenburg.
Their main
field of work is the development and manufacturing of sensors
and instrumentation for environmental research and monitoring,
like multispectral light sensors, turbidity meters, photometers
and fluorometers.
In addition
to innovative measurement methods, special efforts are made to
ensure the reliability and easy handling of instrumentation. These
properties are guaranteed by field tests in close cooperation
with partners from leading scientific institutes in the world.
The modular
concept of TriOS products is the basis for maximum flexibility
of customized configurations.
Instruments can be used in the lab as well as in harsh environments,
e.g. for field studies or for industrial applications.

Hydrocarbon
contamination - An illuminating experience!
Envitech Ltd. is pleased to announce the UK launch of Trios instruments
for water and wastewater monitoring, comprising, low cost submergible
fluorometers and hyperspectral UV/VIS
absorption systems.
Particular interest and success has been achieved with Enviroflu-HC
which is ideal for measuring low levels of Hydrocarbons in surface
run-off, cooling waters and process waters, typically found in airports,
fuelling depots, transport and haulage facilities and waste waters
from manufacturing processes such as steel production, wood and
coal distillation and plastics production.
These systems have been installed at Renault production sites in
Fleine, Paris, to monitor and control surface water run off before
discharge to river, and will be used as a standard on other Renault
sites.
Similar systems are being installed at other large car manufacturers
sites in France.
Both portable and fixed site systems, either with or without logging
capability are available.
