Ammonia monitoring
is required for environmental, process and for drinking water intake
applications. A wide variety of analysis methods can be offered
- the choice of which depends on the application. Factors to consider
are:
- Possible
interferences
- Measuring
Range
- Speed of
response
- Solids /
sample conditioning requirements
Low cost colourimetric
analysers can be proposed for the more simple applications such
as drinking water. ISE (GSE) ammonia analysers are also well suited
for ammonia analysis requiring less reagents and large sample tubes
less likely to block. However applications requiring measurement
of high levels of ammonia with also possible interferences may be
better suited to using a ISE (GSE) analyser that incorporates feedback
dilution. Specialised ammonia analysis within process applications
may be better suited to analysers that reproduce proven lab methods.
In-situ ammonia is also available which has significant installation
and costs savings - see in-situ section for more details. |
