IN-SITU AMMONIA..

No Need for kiosk, pump, hose or sample filtration!

Ammonia levels within the WWTP process and at the final effluent are an important measure of treatment efficiency especially for nitrifying / de-nitrifying plants. Cabinet analysers typically have small sample tubes requiring filtration, sample pumps and a kiosk which leads to high installation and maintenance costs.
In-Situ measurement using a new concept of ammonia analyser - the Stip process buoy (PBS1), is now available which significantly reduces these costs since there is no need for a kiosk, pump, sample hose or filtration!

Amnisys now compliments the in-situ ammonia measuring range of instruments available, bring a different range of capabilities and applications

Applications for In-situ Ammonia measurement: Final effluent
  • Simple and robust system that can be relied upon to give an alarm if ammonia levels increase.
  • Solids and biological fouling have little impact due to the batch settlement and caustic flushing that occurs at every measurement cycle
  • Ammonia GSE electrode provides close correlation to laboratory methods
  • Autocalibration ensures accuracy of analysis
  • Remote GSM access for diagnostics / SMS text alarm messaging for rapid fault assessment

Gross filamentous fouling doesn't even pose problems to the Isco-stip process buoy due to its internal caustic cleaning

Applications for In-situ Ammonia measurement: MLSS
  • Direct measurement within the AS tank or SBR

  • In-process measurement for nitrification and/or de-nitrification control

  • Earlier indication of treatment efficiency than final effluent

  • In-situ measurement can be combined with nitrate / DO and even inlet / outlet BOD for a complete WWTP control monitoring / control system - assessment of treatment / toxicity

Southern Water installed the first Isco-stip in-situ ammonia in the UK in 1998 and have been such a success that they have become standard installation for any WWTP requiring an ammonia consent measurement.
